[update] Read about Color Piano Theory.
I’ve been working on this widget a long time, on and off, basically whenever I’ve got a vacation. There are a lot of features in the works, so check back for more updates. I would love to hear what you think about this widget, and any ideas you have for improvements:

Hey, I love your Piano Theory widget for quick access to a keyboard on my dashboard. I just had two suggestions to make for the app.
1) The piano sounds are really soft even at 100%. I often use the app to quickly figure out the notes in the melody of songs but it's overwhelmed by any music unless I turn them way down or off. It'd be ok if the sound distorted a bit as it got louder, maybe you could have the slider go up to 200% but note that over 100% could cause some clipping.
2) Related to number 1, maybe you could have an alternate distorted sound, like a simple saw tooth synthy sound that can cut through other sounds and sounds much louder.
3) I usually only use the single note mode, but every time I start the app, it goes back to chord mode. Would be really great if it remembered the last setting for the chord checkbox.
Thanks!

Thanks for the comments. An iPhone/mobile version is definitely in the works at some-point, when time allows. I'm glad it can be of help! That means it's working

Have been searching for a tool to assist learning of chords both by hearing and learning the letter names and keys. Thought this to be a very useful and fun tool to use. Couple of glitches. One…the reverb is always on even at 0% and successive chords are mushed together. Other…the key names don’t always really match the chord name, i.e., Bmajor chord should read B D# F#, not B Eb Gb, so it is useful to find and hear a chord, but not to always learn the correct letter spelling.

I just found your Mac widget a few months ago stumbling through the widget list. My eleven-year old son is going to love running it on his MacBook Air. He’s in a great program here for young people wanting to try music. http://pluggedinband.org . The link for the widget goes to your main page and has a slightly different name, so I wasn’t sure I was at the right place. But eventually I scrolled down and tried your other piano program (with all the classics) on the way down. My son is going to like that, too!
